this dump valve connects to...?

...what?
sort of a continuation of this thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f444...bly-68831.html ,but I thought it was worthy of its own.

I see this version of the thetford dump valve available on many vendor's sites. 08706 of Thetford Valve 01447
They all mention "o-ring connection". what connects to an "o-ring connection"??? other than the oem "collector" fittings, that are no longer available?
Is there a fitting with a screw-on flange that can transition to an ordinary 3" spigot/hub fitting?

If the only thing that connects to this is the old collectors, isn't it odd that they still make these valves, but not anything that'll attach to them? perhaps the valves need repair/replacement more often than the collectors, which have no moveable parts. just wondering.

Vintage Trailer Supply has Thedford to Valterra style adaptors. You can hook up any brand hose or blue boy with the adaptor.

I changed both of our using valves similar to the one you linked with the o-rings...you might have to remove the old valve to make sure you get the correct version as the replacement...I got mine from Inland RV in So-Cal...

The valve attaches to the tank with four SS screws (bolts), and the outlet side fits standard plastic plumbing pipe sizes you'll find at your local plumbing supply, Lowes, etc...

I had to cut the outlet manifold in pieces to get to my valves - rear bath model AS - but it was easy to 'build' an exact copy of the outlet manifold using new plumbing drain pipe...

I even attached a new outlet flange of the 'normal' type (Valterra?) - for easier attachment during full hook-up situations...

Hang in there, it can be a complicated job, the way AS has constructed some of the tank drain systems...

right..."buy a new valve"...but thats $50 +

I'm wondering if there is anything that can attach to this particular valve, (which is otherwise working just fine), allowing it to transition to standard fittings.
