Things to have to make sewer issues easy

Just wondering how a long the two hoses I buy should be?

One for potable. and the other for Sewer Solution hookup.

Not having done this before, didn't know what lenghts to buy.

I find that it's pretty variable, and depends somewhat on how and where you will camp.

I have a 20' sewer connection hose. It's longer than I need in most cases, but it's almost always long enough.

Fresh water hose (white) I think is 25' but depending on where I'm camping, I may throw an extra hose in the TV just in case.

And then a seperate hose (mine is green, normal garden hose) for rinsing out the slinky hose, etc.

We also have a 20'. The only time we had difficulty reaching was up at Moorefield campground at Mesa Verde: They lengthened a site by adding space at the back, but that move left the water and sewer stranded far to the front of the site. Fine for other RVs, where connections are often located further toward the front, but not ok for the 67, where everything is way in the back.

Also consider going with the better grade sewer hose material. Once you stretch out a hose you stand a better chance of it being damaged by ground debris. I always felt that the extra $$ spent on heavy duty hoses were paid back in longevity and peace of mind when I pull out that black tank handle.

Yes, and you don't need to see "RV" to understand, either! Late last June we had a big hail storm here. There were punctured sewer hoses all over the park. Pretty putrid. I used a good deal of chlorine on the grass afterwards.

We have found after our 6K trip this year that it is always better to have than have not! We carry 2 -25' white fresh water hoses, one 25' green everything else hose and we have three sewer hoses all with assorted couplers. This way was can make those long stretches, the short ones and the medium ones with out too much sewer hose everywhere.

A good combo for water hoses, is a 25 foot and a 50 foot.

That gives you 25, 50 or 75 feet.

Same way with sewer hoses.

Carry a 10 foot and a 20 foot.

That gives you 10, 20 or 30 feet.

We carry 6 joints of the Sewer Solution hose, yes that sounds like a lot, but we have been at a few RV parks that had the sewer tap at the opposite end of the site than the water and electric hookups.

I sometimes wonder what some of these park designers were thinking...of IF they were thinking. Most are OK, but every once in a while...

or do you NOW ask about water hoses used for various needs like drinking and tank flushing?

-a set of hoses for fresh water depending on distance from the source..10s, 25s and 50s usually and in combinations...

-a grey tank/black tank flushing hose (usually black or gray colored but garden hose works too)...again how far do you expect to be from the water source...usually 20 feet is plenty for flush hoses...

a garden hose for washing tv or trailer? i carry these 2...

y connectors for the water tape and various adapters like a water thief...which i've not had to use in 2 years or the last 450days of camping.

like the tank flush process it self...

it helps to keep the info all linked together

hoses or threads...

there are many threads here on the sewer solution or flush king or other methods intended to improve the basics....search and read,
but first just do some dumping the basic way....

learn your camping habits and needs as experience accumulates...most do fine with only the basic bits and pieces.

and save money for fuel and beer!
