Thetford valves hard to open/close

I rebuilt both of them 5 years ago they were always tight as to open close.

when closed they don't leak.

Was think about throwing something in the tanks to lubricate is that possible?

If so what to use?

Try adding a lot of olive oil to your diet...

While the valves is open, while dumping, try rubbing paraffin wax on the shaft and work it in with additional applications.

Send a message via Yahoo to Jim Foster
I once had a problem with the valve on the Caravel and found it to be a little rust on the shaft, not a problem with the gate itself.

Shaft looks clean, I'll try the paraffin and oil.

Howie why paraffin, instead of perhaps silicone spray

Not sure that is a good idea????
What about unwanted growth if left unused?

Just and old carry over from my working days. Paraffin dose not collect dirt and will not flow to unwanted areas. Oil and grease end up everywhere.
