Thetford Valve Repair
My waste tank was slowly leaking and I didn't know the cause but since I was out in the desert, I thought I would take care of it when I dumped. When I dumped, I thought succesfully, the moniter said I was still 1/4 full. And I was. I was clogged with poo and nothing more would dump. So I spent some very smelly time getting through that clog. I took the valves off and opened them up. The grey water valve seems to have no problems. The black water valve however....
The plastic gate that comes down to shut off the flow gets caught on the rubber seal and did not close all the way.
So I think my problem was the water slowly leaked out leaving behind a solid mass of poo, hence my clog.
I cant seem to find any repair kits for the thetford that is just seals. I dont think I need a whole new valve, but since I am with out seals, I think i will need to buy a new valve afterall.
Any ideas about the seal issue?
and if I have to buy a new valve, should I get a thetford or valterra.
