Thetford valve and abs hub a little sloppy

Hi everyone. I’m replacing the valves in my 1977 argosy minuet. I’ve got all the old stuff out and have the new adapter inserted into the bottom of the black tank and the new valve attached. The concern I have is that the 3way abs hub slides on pretty easy. Usually you have to force abs or pvc fittings together. But this one goes on easy. I can feel friction if I twist the fitting, but there is a hint of wobble still when it’s fully on. Will this glue together ok?

I could use a fernco, but the outer end of this 3way goes to my sewer connection, so I’d prefer to keep it all rigid.

Has anybody else experienced this with a thetford valve? Did I just get a bad one?

Here a YouTube video of the issue. Hopefully this link works.

Thanks for any suggestions.

A good thick coat of ABS cement on the appropriate part of both pieces will weld it up just fine. Just make sure it’s fully seated and let it sit still to cure fully.

Thanks Rich! That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ll give it a try.
