Thetford question

I have a 1968 AS and it only has a black-water tank. I'm considering buying a Thetford SmartTote LX (either an 18 or 27 gallon). Is it "OK" to mix both grey water and black water in a single tote? The campground we will be going to has a toilet/bathhouse which we will be primarily using for showers and "other business". I would like to empty the grey & black each day and don't want to move the AS to utilize the campgrounds dump station.

Thanks for you thoughts/suggestions.

As long as your tote has the capacity to carry the liquid, it is okay to mix them

We use A Thedford LX "blue boy" with our 68 and really like it. I only use mine for grey water. I would use it for black water to dump if the need ever arises but we can go about 4 days before we need do dump the black tank (just me and the wife) and we usually don't stay in one place that long. You don't want to dump the black tank daily, you need to wait until it is full so that you will have plenty of volume and "head pressure" to move the solids out. We find that we need to dump grey water about every other day as it fills pretty fast. I have the 18 gallon size which when full we can still lift into the back of the truck if the grey dump station is a ways from the campsite and too far to pull. I don't like to tow it with the truck. Finally with the Thedford (or any new blue boy) you will need a Valterra to Thedford adaptor as the end on the LX hose has the newer Valterra type fitting while the 68 has the older Thedford type.
