Tank Vents

hello everyone,
In order for the traps on the sink and shower to work does there have to be a vent for every drain? Or can one simply just vent the tank and this will allow the traps to work? and keep smelly gas from coming up through the drains. Thanks,
Nat

you only need to vent the tank.

Thank you for the quick reply. That is what I had thought but just wanted to make sure.

If your sink drain lines dump into the top of the tank, the tank vent will work fine. Some installs make it real easy to run the line into the tanks' dump fitting. In these cases, you really need a vent on the sink line after the P trap or use one of those fancy hevpro (sp) valves in place of the p trap.
