Tank handle maintenance?

We just got our black tank valve replace and that sucker goes in and out with such ease. Who knew this simple joy could make our day. Now the gray we always thought was easy but not as smooth as the black now. Do any of you grease or use something to make the pulls work better? Grease would attract sand and dirt.

thanks, badkat

Our gray has never been easy. Sprayed a lot of WD40 on it yesterday, much improved.

After black tank valve replacement the black tank handle can be pulled with a finger!
