I am building a completely new water and waste water system in my camper and was wondering what is the best size pipe for the waste water. I was thinking 2" black pipe because it seems to be pretty widely available. Will it work alright with all the RV specific pumping requirements like the waste tanks and sewer connection stuff or would 1 1/2 be better?
Thanks Steve
There's black pipe and black pipe in your trailer. From the kitchen sink, I'd say 2" is fine and pretty standard. If you're talking about black pipe from the black tank to the drain, you might want to go bigger, to make sure that umm... "everything" can get through OK.

1 1/2" for gray water and vents is pretty standard for RV's. You might have problems finding 2" fittings for tanks, dump valves, etc. I've never seen a 2" dump valve, but they might exist out there somewhere.
Black tank dump pipe, fittings, and valves should all be 3". The sewer connection for the dump hose should be 3" as well. The black tank vent is typically 1 1/2".
