Sources for 4" height holding tanks
Is Vintage Trailer Supply the only place that sells holding tanks that are 4" in height? Looking to add a grey tank to fit snugly between floor and belly pan so max height is 4". Probably have called or visited a dozen or so websites for other companies and am not able to find something in that height. Nothing against ordering from VTS, just wanted to get a comparison elsewhere if available.

I purchased mine from VTS and they installed my outlets and vents where I needed them and they mounted perfectly over my axles on my 72 31' Sovereign. Could never find any others. Good luck

Some tank manufacturers will make custom tanks, though they are not likely to be cheaper than the VTS ones.

Hi: Have you checked out Inca Plastics in California? They have been molding holding tanks for 60 years. They have many of the old Airstream molds. I'm pretty sure I saw 4" high tanks in their catalog.
Just download their pdf catalog and start paging through until you find a tank that fits your location dimensions.

Thanks all. David. Looked at the Inca catalogs. They do have some that are close to height restriction I have. Going to call them tomorrow and query further. Trying to maximize width and length of the 4" high tank to squeeze more holding capacity thus wondering if anything available outside of VTS option.

I dropped two 1975 Inca Plastic tanks out of my Overlander. It was one of those dirty jobs you enjoy doing. I am putting two new bigger Inca Plastic tanks back in with different locations under the trailer. Give them a call with your dimensional requirements and see if they don't have a match. It takes a bit of patience to get ahold of them. Busy I guess. I had better luck with e-mail.

That smaller tank in your photo looks about right for my purpose. Called Inca several times today. Chose several options on their voice menu. All options led to an unanswered phone and answering machine for Bill. Tried emailing but email came back as undeliverable...

Yep, that's Inca Plastics. Same thing happened to me. Customer communications could be improved. I have talked to Bill Odell on the phone, sounds like a nice guy. I found Inca Plastics was more responsive to email, like so many folks are.
Try this email address listed below. Tell Bill you are interested in this part number or that part number found in their catalog, and you want a price and delivery for consideration. I bet you will get a reply. In a day or two. I paid about $240 a tank plus shipping.

I bought two of the 4" gray tanks and a fresh water 12x12x50" from VTS. Getting ready to install the gray tanks this week. Ordering was easy and I was able to talk to someone both times I called, just so I could validate what I was thinking about doing. You just decide where you want the spin weld fittings and that's it. Took about two weeks from ordering until I received them.

Was able to get email response from Inca and they do carry the 4" height tank that VTS carries. Slightly lower price. Still waiting on follow up email reply, but asked if they allow pick up and if they happen to carry any other 4" max height tanks with wider or longer dimensions? Not sure if they do custom tanks.
Tough place to get through but like the option of a place nearby.

Hi: Inca is a rotomolder. Them mold tanks out of polyethylene. The tanks are the shape of the mold. I'll bet they don't make custom tanks, but I don't know for sure.
Some guys buy two tanks and daisy chain them together to get added capacity.

wahya thanks for that hint. they confirmed they do have the same tank Inca and VTS sell, a bit cheaper too. curious to know if this is something they buy from Inca then resell....they have yet to respond to that. they did confirm that this is the only size they sell and they do not do custom tanks.
search continues for a 4" high tank that is slightly bigger than the stock size of 50"x21". hoping to squeeze out a bigger capacity so 2 of them matches the size of the freshwater tank. as it stands now, the stock freshwater tank is 45 gallons, and these stock gray tanks are 16 gallons each.

Trons4U,
what was your grey water tanks supported by? is it necessary to support the entire tank underneath or around the perimeter and across the middle? looks like you put bubblewrap underneath... for insulation or for cushion or both?
thanks!
