I have had a sewer solution for five years. I bought it so that I could pump out the AS tanks at home. I have a 1/2 bath in my garage. I pump the tanks to the toilet in the half bath in the garage when needed (long lines at dump station or tank maintenance). I don't see the ss as a good alternative to normal dumping with a stinky slinky at a campground. It is slow and uses too much water for the process.

We have used the SS for about a year. We have a 2007 19' Bambi. It has worked very well, and I would highly recommend it.

We carry a slinky and use it when a threaded hose connection is not available (usually at state or national park campgrounds). We have a "water theif" but have not used that yet. I would also use the slinky if there were water conservation issues; the SS does use more water.

After the tanks are empty, I routinely rinse them out with the SS (by rotating the nozzle to direct the water jet up into the drain). Our black tank has a flush feature, but the gray tank does not. Flushing the gray tank usually clears out dark debris that accumulates (or grows?) there. This is a great feature.

We use a 45 degree clear elbow, which makes attachment and removal easier. The only complaint is that the plastic quick-release on the check valve (where water supply hose attaches) has become difficult to connect and disconnect. I plan to replace with a brass unit soon.

We have a second 10' hose, but used only once (when I parked 2" too far from drain and was too lazy to move!).

I bought a ss from cw a couple weeks ago. I then ordered what I thought was the correct addapter to use it on my 1994 30' Excella. Back to the drawing board. The addapter is to small to go on my AS sewer outlet. Originally ss told me that cw sold the addaptor and even gave me a cw catalog #7131 that is supposed to be Valterra TO5-2285VP. The cw parts guy looked at me like I had two heads. Any suggestions?

You need a thetford to valterra adaptor if the SS does not fit your current fitting on the sewer dump. CW should have one - they are available on line via EBAY - cheap.

I had email Sewer Solutions concurrent with my post yesterday. A representative called me today and they are sending me the adapter. If the ss system is as good as their customer service I will really be happy with it.

First off how do you know when the tank is empty since you are filling it while it is emptying? Second who thinks sending a small redirected stream of water up a 3 in pipe and around bends is going to have any effect in the tank itself.

Most campgrounds are on a well and a pump on demand system for their dump stations. I can just imagine what the campground thinks of this idea let alone those campers behind you in line.

The system I use is to dump the black tank first and as the flow slows I lift the slinky to a height just above the holding tank and open the gray water valve for about 5 seconds. This forces a LARGE QUALITY of water back into the black tank. I then close the gray valve and drop the slinky to finish draining the black tank. Once that has drained I close the black valve and open the gray.

Bob, I do not use it at a dump station, only at full hookups, I do not want to keep anyone waiting. I carry my stinky for those occasions. Most campgrounds in this area have an ambulance of water and if a policy is in place voiding the use of the device I would certainly abide by the rules.

ahh....full hook-up's...thats the difference, in 25yrs we've had FH's...twice, I think.
I'm still able to do most of my dumping at home.

SS user since 2005. Posted several times on this thread.

I have run into situations where there isn't any water available to use with the Sewer Solution. I use a small 12 volt pump ((which is also handy to drain flooded campsites (a BIG problem in Va)) and a drywall bucket full of water to power the SS when needed.

If you're not dumping uphill and your black tank solids are well aged (or you eat a lot of fruit) you really don't have to use the mascerator pump AT ALL. The tanks won't be pristine, but if you're just on the way home or to your next campground, who cares? After you empty the black and gray, add a gallon or two of fresh water back into each tank, add a hefty squirt of Dawn dish washing detergent to both tanks if you choose to, and drag the trailer 300 miles to the next stop. You'll have the remaining contents stirred AND shaken, and ready to hit the SS hose loaded with an amazing amount of emulsified grease and oil and stuff.

As for being slow at a dump station... Well I've got 50 feet of hose, and late at night 50 feet could sometimes REACH the dump station or a nearby full hookup site If I DO need to use the dump station when there is a big line of others camping, I settle for just dumping the gray tank, without ANY water supply except enough to rinse the SS before stowing it. If that took long enough to irritate others in line, I could always close the gate and leave 5-10 gallons IN the tank. I'll always be going to another campground, and it's often easy to dump when pulling IN. I'm single and rarely travel with guests so emptying the black tank after a weekend isn't needed.

We have used the SS some 700 days of camping now, the slinky is in the tube if we need it but its never been used.

We are seldom weekend campers, mostly very long trips.
