Sewer Hose Problem
My 27FB International has a short 46 inch long storage tube mounted underneath. I can't find a hose longer than 10 feet that will fit in it when the hose is collapsed. The heavier duty hoses like the Viper and the Rhino won't even fit at 10 feet. I really want to use the storage tube if possible. Any suggestions?

Hi, I have never used that tube; I keep my sewer hose in my rear bumper storage compartment.

My storage spaces are a lot different but the Sewer Solution works great and several of the pick-up gang of NorCal Airstreams use it. I'm not sure where they store them but it doesn't take up much space, as the Amazon link shows.

Sewer hose storage
I also use the Sewer Solution and like it very much. If I was going to stick with a traditional sewer hose, however, I would replace the relatively short four inch tube under the trailer with a longer six inch one. That should hold just about any of the higher end sewer hoses without too much trouble.

We use the EZ Coupler hose kit. Two 10 foot sections of hose, each collapses down to under 40 inches. Two sections fit in the storage tube on our 2014 Sport 22FB.

Where do you keep your power cord? I keep mine in the rear bumper compartment.

If your rear bumper storage area is like mine, it gets wet back there, probably not a good place for your power cord. I keep mine in the front locker (FB unit)

Hi, I keep my power cord, water hoses, dog bone adapters, spring bars, torque wrench, breaker bar, with sockets, and a few more items in my storage compartment. Mine is located on the rear street side, under my queen bed.
In my rear bumper storage compartment, I keep my sewer hose, sewer gloves, [electrician high voltage gloves] spare sewer adapters, porch mat, and my awning tool.

We were able to make a 15' Rhino work by shortening the hose by a foot or two.

I would lengthen the storage tube. I like being able to slide a full length heavy duty hose with the trailer side fitting attached right into the tube near the sewer connection. One of the better attachments we have put on our Airstream.

Has anybody replaced the tube with a larger diameter? I'd love to use it, but the fittings on the heavier hoses don't fit.....at least they didn't fit in the tube on our 23fb. I haven't tried the tube on the. 25fb, but I assumed it was the same size. As it is I keep the sewer hoses in the bumper trunk and nothing else. I didn't like the idea of mixing anything with the sewer hoses.

I added a second longer hose storage tube underneath next to the Airstream supplied tube. It was an easy job and is plenty long enough for my longer sewer line. I use the short tube for fishing poles.

My 20 foot hose fit into the tube on my 27' international. I remove the elbow and keep it in the bumper storage.

It would be great if the heavier hoses with the fittings and elbows would fit. I'm sure a box could be fabricated from sheet metal to replace the tube......I wonder if it would hang down to low and cause clearance issues? Where's my tape measure.......

I put mine in a large Tupperware container along with the spare hose and all the attachments. This goes in the back of the pickup. Jim

Hi, I have known other people who have done the same thing. One lady told me that [she is a nurse] she filled the container with bleach water between trips. Those of us who don't have a pick-up don't have that option.

I noticed with my existing storage tube there is an additional square of aluminum riveted to the underbelly and I'm not sure how to do that.

First I made more room to work under the trailer by backing it onto some blocks then raising the jack as high as it would go. As I recall, I did find one frame member of some sort on the trailer that allowed me to attach one or two of the support screws in very firmly. For the other two screw holes I reinforced the area similar to how the small tube is attached. I took a piece of 1/8" (or 3/16") thick piece of aluminum flat stock cut to roughly 2" square shape. Plain aluminum stock is available at Home Depot or any hardware store in varying lengths. I then pop riveted those pieces onto the belly pan with four rivets right in the area where the other screws were to be attached. Maybe a one hour job. Worst part is working upside down.
I did find that a clear plastic pipe extension I purchased to be able to see when the tank is finally clean was a little too fat to fit in the storage tube. Fortunately that problem was solved by partly sanding down parts of it on the outside until it fit. I now leave the clear pipe permanently attached to my hose. The link follows:
