Sewage and WasteWater Labels Switched?

We just picked up our new trailer and at the first dump station I noticed that the labelling of the dump handles seems to be backwards (or is my interpretation of the meaning of the words "Sewage" and "Wastewater" wrong?)

It looks like the stickers are on the wrong side. My black tank pull is on the left. My handles are both black.
Since you have the clear elbow, I recommend you disregard my "expert opinion" and perform a test.

That looks odd to me. Especially since the handle on the left is black and the one on the right is grey. I would expect black/sewage to be on the left and grey/waste to be in the right. One way to know for sure.... [emoji3]

The size of the pipes is the clue. 1 1/2" is grey (waste) water. 3" is sewage. Labels are wrong.

Agree with previous posts - incorrect labeling. You can contact AS and have them send you new labels or make your own.

Quality control and attention to detail. Jackson Center workers once again demonstrate they lackadaisical approach to their jobs.

I noticed on the most recent video from Colonial on a 2017 25 RB FC show the incorrect labelling too. Someone at Jackson Centre has obviously been give incorrect training.

As suggested above, I have sent a message to AS to let them know.

I knew which handle to pull for the 'black' water, so no problem there and in fact it was confirmed by watching the effluent. I think a new trailer owner, though, might not pull the handles in the correct order and end up with a really dirty sewer hose.

Eyeroll. Now they can't even correctly install stickers. This has to be a new low in the lack of quality coming out of that factory. Nobody noticed on final inspection? This is actually a big deal and could be a nasty mess for a newbie. What the Hell is going on up there in JC?

In a different life, I worked at a dry cleaners. In hindsight, the poor folks who were the victims of my first few weeks of pressing there must have been very confused and disappointed. [emoji20]

It happens. No one lost their life because of it.

Yes, stickers in the wrong place is disappointing. Needs to be corrected. I'm going to guess that applying stickers may be one of those tasks a brand new trainee will do precisely because it's not a life or death kind of thing.

Having said that - in an ideal world, there wouldn't need to BE a final inspection at the factory if everyone on the floor owned their own and collective team quality. There would still be a dealer prep because you don't know what might happen in transit, but in theory, there are ways to reduce these kinds of frustrating errors to nearly zero - it's a philosophy and process, not a final inspector's job....

What stickers?

Our new trailer didn't come with those stickers...and I've already removed all of the other 1000 it did come with!

HA! You could just add arrows, from the right pointing left and from the left pointing right.

At a restaurant I visited once, they had the woman's room and men's room marked, but with arrows on each pointing to the other one. Made for some interesting confusion!

I have the same issue on my 2010 AS, learned right away due to size of valves. Wish they would put black and grey since that is what they are called. Tried to find black/ grey labels with no luck

As we all know, AS marches to their own drummer, and to hell with Industry standards.
Like you guys, I also found my Black and Grey handle to be 'reversed' to the "Standard', so I just left the Black handle Black, and painted the Grey Tank Handle Grey. Easy-Peazy.

My question would be. Why wasn't this caught at the dealer?

The handles (as shown in the photo) are correctly coloured, just the labels are reversed.

More of the lack of attention to detail pervasive in at Airstream from the top to the bottom. Consumers need to be more demanding and stop letting these things slide before exceptance of the product.

This is such a nonissue. After the first use one should know which is which. Either remember which is which or relabel. One time issue.

Dealer prep? They wash it, take plastic off and get it off the lot, at least a majority of dealers operate this way.
