I had my hose supported by my Camco sewer hose support when I tried it. I keep looking at the Rhino hose fitting to see if the washer had fallen out but it was there. When this fitting snaps in it isn't such a secure lock as when it fitts on to the AS sewer fitting.

There is a hose on the market that lengthens and shortens in "clicks" or segments. I don't know the brand. I might try one of those next. Generally I just buy the heaviest thickest I can find. Those cheap ones really don't last long- sometimes a year or two.

The hose I was talking about is the Camco RV Rhinoflex. I saw it at Walmart. I had really wanted that hose, but someone on here said it leaked where it hooks to the trailer. I have one of those clear fittings as well so when I'm flushing the black tank I know when it's really clean. I wish I could get my wife to poo at the bath house. She is never the one to drain or flush the black tank. I don't know what I'm gonna do with that woman. She won't wash and wax my truck and trailer. She won't empty the black tank. Somewhere along the line I didn't train her right. I have a coworker whose wife cleaned his truck for him. I saw a man at the dump station sitting in the truck while his wife dumped the tanks. What am I doing wrong?

Rhino Hose

I had an incident with my Rhino hose last weekend. I was on my way to an Airstream rally. I have two hose carriers since the Rhino would not fit in my original carrier. I came over a hill and a tire tread was coiled up in the pavement ready to strike. I could not avoid it so tried to straddle it. It hit something under the trailer and I heard something dragging. By the time I pulled over I was about 100 yards past the impact point. I found the front carrier with the Rhino hose had been knocked loose except for one screw and was wedged at an angle under the other carrier. Fortunately the road was scarcely traveled so I was able to stick my leg under the trailer an push the carrier loose. One end had ground off through the dragging. I saw my Rhino hose 100 yards back on the road. When I recovered it, I found I had apparently run over it and the washer in the end connector had gotten lost. I was able to straighten the portion where I had flattened it. I ordered a new set of gaskets and it appears to still be very serviceable. It is indeed a tough hose.

How stout is your reinforcement stick? It needs to be somewhat flexible in order to secure a bit of a sting when it "pops".

I still might try the Rhinoflex because of the ability to make it exactly how long you need it to be. I am currently at a park where my shortest hose is twice as long as it needs to be. With Rhinoflex, click click click and it is shorter (or longer). Maybe I am too anal or OCD about my hoses and cords being really neat and in straight runs- easy enough with water, electricity, and TV cable- just run them behind the tires and/or leave excess coiled up under trailer out of sight. Couldn't possibly have cords/hoses take away from the beautiful appearance of the trailer now...

I think you haven't been trained.

Revolution hoses come in different sizes and more can be ordered over the internet after you buy the initial kit. All together I have about 30' feet of hose in 3 segments and I have never run into a sewer connection further away than that. They don't leak either. What I don't like is they are so flexible they sag between supports, but otherwise they have worked very well. Revolution is also made by Camco.

Oh, and my wife usually takes the garbage to the dumpster while I drain the tanks. And she puts up the stabilizers and helps hitch and unhitch most of the time. She washes the dishes and puts the deodorizer in the black tank along with other things to make them stay cleaner. She attaches the power cable, TV cable and the fresh water hose unless I get to it first. We work together on these things and if I need help, she'll help with the sewer hoses too. We trained each other to work together. One time at a campground the owner watched us working together and said he'd never seen a woman do an equal share of the set up stuff. We wash and wax vehicles together (usually). She makes the bed because with my back injury it is very difficult for me. She drives about 40% of the time, but I can't get her to learn how to back up. I drive through difficult traffic most of the time and mountain, narrow, twisting roads because I'm better at it, but she gets better all the time the more she drives. But she's not perfect—she won't remodel our new house while I read the newspaper and watch TV. I tell her how to do it, but she insists on cooking another gourmet meal while I use the nail gun (I'm afraid she'll shoot a nail into me if she uses it anyway). We decided if we were to get an RV, it was a joint decision and we had to do everything together to make it work for us. As we get older it is even more important to work together to make sure if one of us gets sick on the road, the other can take over. I don't think she'll ever change the oil and grease the truck though. I taught her how to change tires, but they are so heavy she can't lift them onto the wheel so I showed her how to lever them upward and on to the lugs. If she ever had to do it, I guess she'd figure it out, but someone would probably stop and help her.

Gene,
You have made a lot more progress than I have. I do everything on the outside of the trailer. She helps by closing the storage compartments before i am finished...
She will prepare meals and clean.
Please realize I am joking around.
I don't know what I am going to do with that woman...

In some societies, you can have more than one wife at the same time. Surely you can find one who does sewers, though most are too smart to admit it. Maybe my mistake was to just go do it because it had to be done. I should have started crying and said it was too icky and then lock myself in the bathroom.

It is so unfair. I poo in the bath house. She poos in the trailer. I flush and drain the tank. I have to hound her to put some chemical in. I feel so used.
I will poo in the trailer if there is no bath house or it is pouring down rain or it is 17 degrees outside...
I have one of them there what you call a hard headed woman...

I can't even get that woman to haul off the garbage. It's all me, brothah.
I haul the trash at the stick and brick abode as well...

The rule I have tried to enforce for 25 seasons of Stream'n...."if you think of it, you do it." It hasn't worked out all that well.
