Question Replacing dump valves

Hello fellow streamers!

Looking for opinions regarding the replacement of the dump valves on my little Caravelle. Took it in to have them replaced and was surprised to see that the repair facility cut a hole in the belly and caulked it back together. Is this a common way to replace the valves or should I complain? Thanks in advance for your sage advice.

Hi, my trailer had a bad creak in the floor and the repair dealer told me, up front, that to fix this they would cut a hole in the belly pan and cover it back up. I agreed to let them do it this way. No damage done, no future problems, and you can't see it unless you are laying on your back under my trailer. Will complaining now make things any better, I don't think so. But I do think they should have told you before doing the job. [option: cut hole in belly pan to gain access, or remove intire belly pan for four times the labor cost]

Thanks, Bob. Maybe the real issue is the lack of communication on the shop's part. That has definitely been a problem and the reason a few things had to be redone. Glad to hear there were no further problems with the cut in the bellypan.

Thanks again!
