Removing black and grey water valves on '96 34'

Guys, I need some advice, I have a broken (cracked) Thetford valve on the black water tank. My repair guy said it would be major to remove the valve, as it's glued into the black water tank.
If it is glued in, why is there a heavy duty clamp where the valve body connects to the tank. It looks to me if the clamp is removed, on both the black and grey water tanks, after the valves are taken apart the entire plumbing should come out, and the valve bodies, connected to the tank should be able to be removed.....
I've done a lot of stuff to Airstreams, but this is a new one for me....advice is welcome....
Thanks,

Larry

My 1995 was not glued in. The large clamp holds the valve to tank adapter inside the tank neck.

The plumbing after my valves has a rubber connector holding the the black and gray Ys together to create the dump manifold.....taking that connector loose made removing and replacing the valves easy.

I replaced both of my valves last summer. The job was fairly straight forward. I bought new valves and tank adapters. I bought the plumbing pipe at the big box hardware store.

My trailer is ten years older than yours, and quite possibly built differently. My dump valve manifold was not glued to the tanks. However, there was what I call white "butyl caulk" between the molded tank drain and the ABS piping. Mine has a hose clamp around it.

My '74 Argosy has the same setup as your '96. I doubt it is glued. Just a hose clamp. Unless your tank is ABS I doubt there is any glue that would bond the sewer pipe and the tank fitting.
