Polyethylene or ABS for waste tanks?

I've searched and cannot find a consensus as to what to use. So far the differences that I've gleaned are with ABS it is easier to add your own outlets and inlets just utilizing the fittings and some ABS cement. The poly tanks can have them added also but is done with rubber grommets and fittings and seem as if they could be a source of failure. Just learning here so would love to hear some more opinion.

Thanks, Mike

I like the ABS tanks because you can glue your fittings. Hang the tank, drill the hole, you cant miss! "RV Surplus" has a great slection.

Dave,

The tanks you are referencing on EBay might work for me as well. Have you received them yet? If so how do you feel about the quality?

Thanks,

Malcolm

tank material

Fiberglass tanks, we think are the best.

Nothing to heat, nothing to mold and nothing to crack, in time.

Fittings can easily be added most any where on those tanks.

Should one get damaged from an accident, they can easily be repaired, by most anyone.

Most rv dealers can spin fittings onto the poly tanks and it's not to expensive $10 each at my rv dealer...
