pipe between black tank and dump valve

What is the proper connection between the black water tank and the dump valve flange?

I ASSumed that the black water tank outlet would connect directly to a standard tube or pipe I could find locallly, but i'm not having much luck roaming the Home Depot aisles.

The inside diameter of the tank outlet is 3-7/8", the outside diameter is 4-1/4".

The new valve flanges solvent connect to standard 3" ABS pipe.

What the heck gets hose-clamped in between?

Thanks in advance,

Christopher

Chris.

A Thetford slide valve is clamped into the tank. Fastened to the slide valve was a "collector."

The sewer hose was then attached to the collector. The "gray" water came into the side of the collector.

If you do not have the collector, your problems have just started, as that part has not been available for some 20 years.

But, a modification can be made, so that you can get back in business.

Also if that tank is bad, a replacement is available.

Thanks, Andy.

I truly wish I had saved the connector assembly, so I could give it to someone else that could use it. I've done that with most of the other items I've removed. I am replacing all the plumbing, except for the tanks themselves.

I am replacing the original Thetford manual slide valve assembly with a Drainmaster electric slide valve attached to a Jabsco macerator pump. I couldn't find a way to graft the new valve onto the original flanges because of the different bolt patterns.

Perhaps there is some "reducer" that will connect the black water tank outlet to the new non-thetford slide valve flanges.

Thanks,

Christopher

chris

that looks just like the grey tank on my '92.

i had to repair a leak this last summer.

simply put, all you need to do is find a piece of abs that will slip inside it.

the pipe is held in place with a heavy duty aircraft hose clamp.

vulkem is used to make the seal.

you should be able to adapt it from there.
