other tank stinks

After a nice weekend we pulled up to the CG dump station. As usual, drained the black water tank first, closed the valve then opened the grey water valve. the gray smelled a LOT worse than the black water. Of course we treat the black tank, but should we be treating the grey tank as well? If so, with what?

Flush it well and then use one of the bacterial products (Eco-Save, Pure Power) about every other use and it should take care of it.

Lots of stuff goes down and a lot of folks overlook it.

The gray tank commonly smells worst that the black. That is just a fact of life.

In 40+ years of camping I have never treated either tank. I don't treat the sewer lines in my house either. There is no reason to treat a tank other than to spend money it accomplishes nothing.

Now some may take exception to this, but I doubt they will have any scientific statements to support their point.
