Mystery leak

I recently took my 72 safari out for it's maiden voyage. When I open the waste outlet waste came pouring out like a gallon. Then after hooking up the waste line I opened the valve and the tank emptied. I can't figure where the waste is coming from. The space between the cap and the valve is small certainly not a gallons worth? Any thoughts?

Drain the grey tank, fill the waste tank with water and a gallon of "winterizing fluid" and leave closed for a day. If you then open that cap and you see the "winterizing fluid" you know where your leak is coming from.

If not then repeat, this time for grey tank....

It's a 72, no grey tank. This could have been grey water sitting in the pipes.

A gallon is 231 cubic inches. If you have a 3" slinky, it takes 32.7 inches of slinky to hold a gallon of water. If you have a 4" slinky, it takes 18.4 inches of slinky to hold a gallon.

Then again, it's hard to estimate a gallon when it's spread out on the ground. What flowed out could have been as little as a pint, and it would still cover a large area when it's spread out in a layer less than a sixteenth of an inch thick.

If the waste valve is leaking, then the material will slowly back up into the gray water pipe.

In that case, who know how much has backed up.

The easiest and cheapest way to determine the "where from" is to add some food coloring to the black water tank.

What Richard said....I bet it is water from the Gray line.
