We have a '73 Safari and it has just one holding tank. It has just 1 valve and 1 discharge pipe; Am I correct in assuming that the grey water and black water are held in the same tank? Which I understand has about a 12 Gal. capacity? We are thinking of a campsite without sewer and am trying to figure out what to anticipate. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you!

No, that's not how it was designed.

Back then, gray water could be dumped on the ground, and no one cared. Not true today.

Airstream started with gray water tank in the 1974 models.

Never, EVER, mix the gray and black. To do so, in your Airstream, you will load the gray water drain lines with bacteria from the black contents.

You can purchase blue tanks, some of which have wheels and a handle, to contain the gray water. Then usually you can find a place to dump it.

A quick test is in order to confirm it hasn't been tinkered with. Poor some water in the sink and see what happens.
