We bought one of those Rhinoflex hoses to replace our aging system. It's been complete and utter S//T literally. It leaks, none of the pieces fit together well. It isn't tight on my connection to the trailer, the end is always falling off. And now it's preventing me from dumping without making a huge mess.

I need some recommendations from anyone for a good quality hose that will last.

I have been using the Sewer Solution for a few years now. It has its quirks and best practices. It is self cleaning and easy to use and store. I do keep 20 feet of regular hose that came with my trailer for those times when the SS is not the best to use. It is labeled EZ Coupler made by Valtera. Seems well made and leak free the couple of times that I have used it.

We use the "EZ Coupler Bayonet Sewer Kit". Two 10' hoses, 90 degree elbow. Currently on sale at Camping World for about $38.00. We have used it for about a year and a half, no problems. We are not full-timing, however. Only issue is I lost one o-ring gasket, but we carry a couple of spares. Those gaskets are available at many Wal-Marts.

I don't know what brand it is that came with our Airstream- I think Colonial (our dealer) provided it. But our first one was still going strong after seven years of use when we traded it in. Anyone know what brand it is?

Sewer Solution would let you dump at the spot in the KOA you are at now. We used ours with no issues for the last 2 1/2 years.

But.. we recently switched to slinky sticky. Sewer Solution was just too slow for us. Dumping two full 40 gallon tanks takes a long time.

I went small. 5 Foot Rhinoflex with an elbow directly on the hose. Haven't had leaks or a problem. Ours seems extra tight to the trailer.

I use the good, usual flexible hose.. to get the 'slope' right, I have split an 8" 'irrigation' drainage pipe lengthwise... I then 'push' the hose into the half and it 'grabs' on... I use a few sections, overlapping to extend and keep the 'slope'... then use some of the 'expanding' slope sections...to support it..

When breaking camp it is easy to just pull the hose out.. clean, stow..no sections to contend with sealing....

I have a 'short' hose for doing a dump at 'stations'.... and it works smoothly..

I like and use blue line hose and couplings, they just push together,they are clean and easy to use.

We've been using the Sewer Solution for about nine years now. we have 1,600 nights of camping with it. We are on our second one.

I never considered sewer solution because I have the flush valve on my Airstream. Always thought that was just for cleaning your tank. That small hose though, everything goes thru it?

Darn tootin it does, like a charm. Also, you never need to worry about saving gray water to clean the slinky.

I have been using a Rhino flex for two years now and no problems yet but I changed the coupler on the trailer from Thedford to Valtery.

Ditto the sewer solution system. We have one for each rig and have given a couple away as gifts. They don't empty the tanks as fast but they aren't messy and stow easily.

What everyone has said about Sewer Solution. Ours have been running (oooh) flawlessly for four years. Yes, we have the Classic clean out spray system built in, and we use that , too! Like the Chief, we keep a good slinky on board for a quick dump on the way out of a 1/2 hook up state park, etc. AND for most camps the SS is The Way To Go! (Buy an extra length of hose for those hard-to-reach locations.)

The SS is a hydro powered macerater. It will shred virtually anything that should go into a head. It of course will not macerate certain feminine hygiene products or children's or pets toys. Same rules apply that apply to boat heads. Basically if it does not go thru the body first it does not go in the head (exception: septic tank friendly toilet paper).

We have the Rhinoflex, but it works great for us. Never had a leak or other problem, over a couple years of use.

We have the rhinoflex also. Works great, but you do have to make sure the fittings are tightened. Sometimes the black locking rings need to be tightened, in case you haven't already tried that. Don't know why the pieces don't fit together, mine fit perfect.

I have the Rhinoflex and have had to tighten the locking rings occasionally. I also put on some of that plumbers clear gel-like lubricant on the hose end before screwing on the ring. I also have the 10' extension. They seem to work OK. What didn't work for me was the clear elbow fitting. That leaked like a sieve. You can purchase new gaskets for the Rhinoflex.

How do all you Sewer Solutions owners use the Sewer Solutions at a dump site where you can't hook up a water hose to it? A good high quality slinky is needed. We camp mainly at COE and National Parks with no sewer hook ups. Even at the occasional RV parks we only get a water/electric site then use the dump station if needed on the way out. In our case the Sewer Solution would never be used. If I could find the sewer access in my house I would purchase one when the trailer is at home so I could really clean out the waste tanks.

We use a Sewer Solution, and have for many years. We would not consider going back to a slinky.

We do carry a ten foot length of slinky for a quick gray water dumps at community dumps sites. We do not use it for the black tank, and use the Sewer solution exclusively for black tank duties. We can usually get five days use from Lucy's black tank.
