I've got a 31' 1977 with a rear bath. i tried to take of the belly pan under the bathroom off today. when i was getting to the last few bolts, the bellly pan started dropping as if it had some weight behind it. my question is how are the holding tanks held in. there not just sitting in the belly pan are they??? i'm sure all sorts of dead rats and snakes are gonna fall on me when i remove the pan, i'm just hoping i don't get covered in crap(literaly). thanks for the help.

The tank is sitting in the pan. Normally on top of a Styrofoam sheet. The pan is what holds the tank in the trailer. If you have not disconnect the fittings (vent, toilet, etc from the top you could crack some of the fittings or the tank
If you think about it, it makes sense, the pan spreads the weight over a much larger surface than if the tank was strapped like a gas tank is.
