Smile Holding Tank Dumping

Just had a successful dump (my holding tanks)! I used my sewer clean out on the side of the house, next to the driveway where my 25' AS TT is parked. Beats hooking up and towing to nearest dump station. And its free! Any comments? Anyone else tried it?

No, don't know your address. However, if you invite me to stop by and give me directions, I will be happy to try it.

If your lawn suddenly gets really, really green right around that spot, you'll know we didn't aim so good.

Works for me

I can carefully thread my AS backward between the garage and workshop so that the outlet on the AS is just feet from the sewer cleanout. Beats using the blue canoe. I keep the shrubbery cut back to allow me to do this.

I also put the AS back there if want to do some work on it since the covenants say I shouldn't have it at home. In the summer, it is totally invisible there; in the winter, it can be partially seen from the road about a block away.

HOLDING TANK DUMPING

I use 10' lengths of 4" plastic pipes to convey sewer water a further distance. The pipes are just friction fit together, with an elbow at each end. The "down stream" end has a reducer to allow the pipe to fit into the stationary pipe. (I installed a stack with removable cap, into the top cover of my septic tank.) Easy set up, easy clean up, easy tear down / storage. Also great for courtesy parking.

I ordered a "Sewer Solution" from www.sewersolution.com. They have supposedly scratch and dent units cheaper than retail. Mine looked (and smelled ) brand new. Between that and a Valterra to Thetford adaptor, I can pump the poop thru a pipe over the plants and plop it in the sewer cleanout.

Perhaps.

I have the stuff, but I haven't physically tried it yet.

Talking

Thanks to all who replied. I forgot to add... no runs, no drips no errors! I also thought I had a problem with my level indicators, as I could never get the levels to indicate below 2/3 full on the black tank. The PO had not used the trailer and I was fearful that I had a buildup of hard "stuff"! Well, I did have a problem with build-up, At home, I have access to plenty of water w/ sufficient pressure ( I have a built -in black tank back flush) and am on sewage, so I had plenty of time to "work " the system. Now my level indicators read empty. I hope that change indicates that my black tank is truely empty.
