Hey! Where are the dump stations?

We are on our 1st extended trip with our Sovereign. Having a great time in and out of camp grounds, Gander Sports boon docking, Elks Clubs etc. Where to dump the black water? I called Pilott here in CT and NY, they do not have the service available. I was told that we could dump at municipal sewerage treatment plants, WRONG. Got rejected by my own old home town. They said that I have to be a resident. Searched the Airforums and did not find a specific thread devoted to this very important subject. Where to dump the poopies?? Help is needed sooon!

Are there any campgrounds near? Almost every campground will allow you to use their dump station for a small fee.

Ditto on campgrounds. Unfortunately when we want to camp off the grid, a fee for dumping at campgrounds is sometimes necessary. Ten or more dollars to dump, almost worth to rent a site for one night just to dump and use the CG facilities. Jim

Big area -- not sure where you are. Sounds like you're near NY/CT border. First rest area eastbound on 84 has a dump station.

RV Dumps app is available for smartphones.

Another option would be a Flying J truck stop if you are near one. Most have RV dump stations. Their website (Now Pilot - Flying J?) would show which ones have. You used to be able to get a pamphlet from FJ also that shows all the FJ stations and what facilities they have.

Thank you. All very good ideas. One dump station suggestion for CT. State park on the coast of CT dump fee equal to 1 night stay $20, by the way no animals in any CT state parks. The northeast most definitely has less than we would hope to see. Also not too many campgrounds in this part of the country compared to the rest.

Allstays Camp & RV App will show you on a map where there are dump facilities near you. You can use a filter to show only what you are looking for, which is very handy.

This is a very good, inclusive app, and our go-to in addition to CampWhere, which is for public campgrounds.

Some municipalities do allow you to dump at their sewage treatment plants, and for free. We have done it, using the Allstays app.

CT is very light on campgrounds, especially down by the South East Area, but the rest including RI, MA, VT, NH, ME have fantastic things to see and do and great campgrounds. Dumping is dicey and getting stricter for sure. I 84 rest areas are a huge help for me when I am traveling thru there. sbb

I second the allstays app for your phone! Well worth the small price. It is also available online at allstays.com.

Also, the iExit app for your phone will list dump stations at Interstate rest areas.

Sanidumps: Finding RV Dump Stations in three easy steps

RV Dump Stations | Locate RV Dump Stations in America

We also stop at National, State and Regional Park & Recreation Area campgrounds, which often have dump stations. To locate them, use the SEARCH function in Google Earth and enter "campgrounds near XXXXX". Then, use Google to find their Website and see if they have a dump station.

We occasionally stop overnight at a KOA just to fill up with freshwater and dump our tanks, because they are easy to find.

Just pull the valve and drive real fast for the next 20 miles or so. Works better at night.
