Help with plumbing layout

I'm sure that this has been covered, but I am having no luck finding it. I'm just still trying to wrap my head around the plumbing vents. Someone straighten me out.

I am looking at a diagram from 76, since it is similar but with a gray tank. Am I correct that I only need 1 roof vent and all the holding tanks and sink drains just connect to that? Can the fresh tank share the same roof vent?

The fresh water tank is not vented. You will need a vent for the black tank that will most likely tie into a vacuum break for the sink in the bathroom, Another vent in the front for the vacuum break for the kitchen sink.

My 76 Argosy does have a gray tank vent. The sinks all tie into this vent and it then weaves its way up to the roof vent.

What is the purpose of the vacuum breakers? It would be impossible for the fresh water to become contaminated since it is a separate system. Is it to prevent backflow into the sink from the gray tank?
