grey water bypass?

We're the proud new owners of a 1972 Safari which doesn't have a grey water tank. I'm thinking about putting a PVC saddle tee on the bottom of the drain pipe under the sink and running a hose through the bottom to drain directly overboard. The bottom of the drain could have a fitting for a hose to run out from under the camper. Any reason why this is a bad idea? Is it legal to have grey water go directly overboard in a camp ground? thanks.

Tent camper do it all the time.

That said some states want gray water on the ground, and some states think it is BAD.

That is the way they used to do it back then. Nobody thought a thing about it.

Now, it's a different story. Most places you go today want the grey water contained.
You can get an aux tank on little wheels that slides under the trailer and hook your hose to it. When it's full, you pull it like a wagon over to the dump station, and dispose of it's contents.

Without a grey tank the grey water runs out of sewer connection at the rear bumper. Why modify what you have now?

All National and State Parks I've been to prohibit dumping grey water. I do remember being in AZ some years back on BLM land and they didn't care but that was an extremely rare occasion.

Might want to invest in one of the wheeled "totes" -- run your hose into that and roll it down to the dump station now and then.
