Gray Water Tank Sensors Update

After no responses I checked with the manufacturer of the SeeLevel II monitor system and the shorter tank sensors they carry will work with the VTS retro gray water tanks (4" high) they carry. I had seen where the SeeLevel systems were talked about on the Forum and was impressed. I hope this helps someone that has these tanks or other smaller height tanks and needs a tank monitor system. Hope this falls under OK things to post.

I have the shallow VTS grey water tanks and installed the short SeeLevel gauges on them. I was told by the SeeLevel tech support guys when I was laboring over the decision, that as my gauges will cover the part of the tank where the wall thickens up as it approaches the corner, there may be some accuracy issues. I ran a bench test and slowly filled the tank with water, and it looked like they were pretty darn accurate, certainly accurate enough for the application. Can't offer any long-term performance anecdotes, as I am still laboring away at completing the rennovation.

One thing to be aware of is that you have to place the gaues strategically so that they are not near any metal. Proximity to metal screws them up.

I have had good luck with my SeeLevel sensors and readout. Garnet did an excellent job helping me solve a problem during my installation. Turns out I had DC voltage ripple generated from my 25 year old converter. The instrument would work without shore power, but when I plug in shore power the read out went manic. A new converter solved the problem.

My sensors are pretty close to the frame rail, so i put a sheet of rubber over the sensors to insulate them. No problems on that end.

My tanks are 9" deep, but I believe there is a cut point at 4".
