I'm working on a Soveriegn 31' rear bath. I want to remove the floor rot around where the toilet was and I want to get out the black tank so I can install a household flush toilet. (this AS will not be traveling, it will be a stationary home hooked to a sceptic system) Can I just cut out the plywood above the tank to get it out? How is it the tank attached to the frame?
Not 100 percent sure on your year, but look underneath and you will see a metal pan across a piece of plywood - the plywood sits on a rail on each side - remove that and lower tank out.
Drill out the rivets to the banana skins and remove the under belly at the back. This will give you a clear view of the tank. Remove the toilet. Go in through the wall near the bath (usually the closet is located there) either remove or cut the vent pipe. The tank will then be easy to remove.
Once the tank is out you can start the floor removal. You will also have to remove the sink and counters to get to the whole floor. All this sounds a lot worse than it really is. It should only take about one day to get all of this done.
