If it's like my 67 was the valve is screwed (4 screws) to a mount that is molded in the tank.
The screws on mine were very rusted & I'm not sure they would come out without cracking something.
In the picture the 2 (of 4) rusty upper screws are what mount the valve to the tank. The two shiny ones mount the fitting to the valve. Good with your project. Click image for larger version

I had to replace both the valve and tank on my 68.
Inland RV should have what you need.

On my 72' the 4 screw flange looks like it is threaded into the black tank. You could then change everything to valterra type. Or a new thetford valve will come with a fresh gasket

If it's leaking...

Sometimes it's not the gasket, it's a tiny crack where the tank-flange mounts. Is your black tank polyethylene (Thetford) or is it ABS(unknown manufacturer)?? Cracks in polyethylene are best welded. Cracks in ABS are best epoxied.

Gaskets come with a new Thetford valve.

!968 was an early, somewhat experimental black tank era. For a 30 foot trailer, It would be reasonable to reconfigure the waste system with modern grey and black tanks using Valterra valves.

If time and $$ aren't easy right now, the link below has possibilities...
