Dump Valves Which is back and which is grey?

We have a new 2013 FC 25FB One of dump valves is marked Main. Can I assume that is the Black Holding tank?? Or is it the Grey Holding tank? Can't locate in the manual.

Main = Black Water. This should be the forward valve or left valve as you are looking at it.
Wash = Grey Water. Rear or right valve.

they should also be labeled at the pull stems. If not label them yourself. I still forget sometimes. Age is a wonderful thing.

The handle for the grey tank should be grey in color, and the one for the black tank should be black in color. Also, the valve for the grey tank, as well as the pipe itself, is 1 1/2" and the valve for the black is 3".

Isn't it amazing how America's 'premium' trailer builder doesn't have nostalgic-looking ID plates that indicate Black and Grey tank valves? That one floored me, too. I'm still getting used to "Main" not being the tank I consider to be the main tank (grey - it fills the quickest, right?).

I love my Airstream, but somehow always feel gypped.

Consider sanding the grey water handle a little then painting it a medium grey color. That way, the "Main" handle is black and the "Aux" handle is grey and they're now color coded.

Are you listening, Airstream?

Dump valves

Every dump valve combo I've ever seen the larger feed pipe is always the black water..
