Depends on how control rod broke....or came loose from the 'slide'...
You need to have access from BENEATH the trailer.. in line with the 'release/control rod'. There should be an 'access panel' there. Loosen screws, remove plate and have a look inside. If there is no access, you will need to cut one.. carefully.
If you are uncomfortable with tools, it is time to bring in a 'pro'.... there are 'mobile' RV techs who will come to you... and I bet they could help you out quicker than we could here.... just saying... Unless you feel you are really up to the task... then, let's figure it out.
To cut the access panel, you will need a short jig saw or sheet metal cutting tool so you can CREATE a panel opening.

I was able to get to a pc to see your picture... looks like you have access. Can you see where the rod connects?
