Drain Valve Under Belly Pan

The grey water drain valve on my unit is located underneath the belly pan, and I cannot reach it to replace it. Can anyone advise me how best to get to the valve? Thanks.

According to the service manual for my year you are supposed to cut a 12"'x12" hole, then cut a patch about 1" larger to replace the cut out area, attach with sheetmetal screws, also make sure you use caulking when you place the patch. The only other option would be to drop the belly pan in that area.

here is how i repaired mine http://www.airforums.com/forum...ead.php?t=4753

there are lots of pics showing how big a hole you need to cut, don't skimp on the hole size. if i had to do it over i would have even gone larger!

note of caution: your tank sensor wires are most likely right in that area, once you get the hole started take a look with a flash light so you don't cut any!!

i see from some of your other posts your trailer is also a 1992, so everything should look the same as mine!

good luck!

Thanks Aaron and John.
The manual that came with mine has very little repair info. I would much rather cut the hole than remove that section of the belly pan. John, the pics are great and are very helpful. I will be careful to watch out for the sensor wires. Without the pics I would have probably used a saber saw and messed up. It would have been nice if Airstream had put a removable inspection plate under that valve because I am sure they all fail at some time.
