cleaning out the tank after camping

in my manual it says to lower the hitch, then raise it to empty the tank after camping. i used a wet/dry vacuum, that was fun...any suggestions?

We pour a bag of ice cubes into the tank, drive & pump when they melt.

Yes, just dump when you leave your camping park, stop by a convenience store and buy a bag (or 2) and poor it into the tank thru the toilet. Ad a bit of water and when you are home or close to it if you have no sewer outlet there, dump the tank again. This is a good idea even when you believe everything is ok "in there".
