cable-actuated dump valve

Anyone ever install one of these?

I'm in the process of plumbing up my new retro-fitted tanks, and finding it quite difficult to get everything connected. (space issues! fittings consume a lot more space than one might expect). Part of the solution might be to use one of these cable-actuated dump valves, but I'd need to know exactly how much space would be needed...namely, exactly how sharply can the cable be bent?
I'll need the cable to be able to make a 90-degree turn inside a 12" space.

The pipe I'm attaching it to runs parallel to the main frame rails, so, the valve body is perpendicular to the frame rails; I'll want it to turn 90 degrees, and exit into the bumper compartment.

I couldn't find any installation instructions for these valves online, but I'm sure there is a limit to how tight a radius you can have with that cable.

If it doesn't work, I can just use a standard valve, add an extension, and go out the side through the frame. Its just not the most convenient spot.

I plan on using them. I am also going to cut in an access panel at each valve location, just in case.......

I bought the cable valve...the body is much larger than the standard valve.
The only way it will work is if I run the cable all the way over to the street side, then turn 90 degrees and head aft into the bumper compartment. (have to get over to the street side because the tank bottom is wedge-shaped, creating space under the tank.). The handle attachment is big, too..a 6" long heavy threaded bolt...needs a 5/8ths hole to mount.
The black tank is only 2" in from the bumper compartment, but there is space way over toward the street side.

For some reason, having the dump valve handle "way over there" seems odd to me. I can't put my finger on "why" this bothers me. I guess I just want to be sure before I drill a big hole.

so anyway, I have a choice: stick with the original standard valve, use an extension rod and a bracket. Or go with the cable valve handle in the trunk.

In the pic, bumper compartment is to the left; street side corner is at the top. conventional grey valve is in place; cable valve would have to be installed 180 degrees to this orientation, with the cable running parallel to the black tank.

These sound great! Can they be set up so you can open them when you are driving down the freeway? Save a bunch of money in dump fees, and time of course.

LOL! well, they do make (much more expensive) ones that are controlled from a switch inside the camper. But that is an entirely different subject.
