Blackwater Tank: is it possible to use both ...
Thetford 03106 Aqua-Kem and Walex TOI-91799 Deodorizer? I have read great things/reviews about both so using both must, together, must obviously be better ... ?
Just want to make sure it's not kinda like trying to clean with bleach and ammonia ... at the same time (sodium hypochlorite) ...
Thanks,
Rich

Happy Camper enzyme treatment order from Arizona. Been using 10 years. Does it all.

We do this, works great:
Q) What is the Recipe you recommend for maintaining RV holding tanks?
Recipe will help to sanitize your tanks while creating a slippery coating to help your sensors remain free of blockage.
1 – gallon jug (empty)
1 – 48 oz bottle of Pine-Sol
1/2 cup Calgon (or other brands like Vaseline) Bath Beads (available at Wal-Mart)
Pour 48 oz. of Pine-sol into the empty gallon jug. Add water almost to the top of the jug, leaving enough room for the bath beads. Shake the Pine-sol and water to mix up (let settle), then add 1/2 cup of the Calgon Bath Beads to the mixture. Shake. Depending on the size of your tanks, use 8 oz. for the black tank and 4 oz. for the gray tank. Add more if desired or if you have larger than average tanks. Adding the bath beads causes overflow therefore I recommend mixing outside or in the sink.

On a weirder branch of this subject; I have a 2016 30' FC and have just found out out that the bathroom sink drains into the BLACK tank. I wondered why my black tank was filling up so fast.
Airstream says that this is by design on the 30 footers due to configuration and weight and balance.
I have never had a previous trailer do this including the 25 ft Cloud.
So now I must empty black tank every two or three days, instead of weekly.
Goofy, eh wot!

It's án advantage. More liquid in Black tank. Don't overuse the bath sink.

My 25'FC does this too. It's a plus to me. More liquid in the tank and helps keep the grey tank from filling.

Our Safari 20 and our FC 25 both drained the bath sink into the black tank. This is a good design as our gray tank fills first.

So what do you 'boondockers' do?
Go find a dump station every two days?
The black tank should last 5-7 days.
Grey water can be used to water the flowers.
