Black water tank - Sovereign '74 or '75
So I'm trying to install my "repaired" blackwater tank. It had a small crack in it when I bought my 74 sovereign, and was removed. The toilet was plumbed directly to the exit valve, so it can be used when plugged into sewer.
My ask is...can anyone with a 74 or 75 sovereign please provide me pictures of their current rear plumbing? I need to get an idea of how it "should" look before I take off the belly pan, etc.
Also, with this tank, which seals/valves on the tank should be replaced? Anything special about reconnecting the tank monitor?
Thanks everyone!!

Additionally, what type of rivets do I use on the underbelly?
Thanks,

This I can help with: they are called "mushroom" rivets. The have big heads to spread the holding force of the rivets over a larger area in order to help hold the belly skin up. VTS calls them " large flange rivets".
As for your first post, I don't understand what you are doing. If the belly skin is still on, why can't you just copy what you see when you take the belly off? Oh, what do you mean by "The toilet was plumbed directly to the exit valve"?
The toilet dumps into the tank, right? The "exit" or drain, gets plumbed to the pipe that goes to where your tanks drain, at the back street side corner.
I would take the guillotine valves apart and replace gaskets there, if you do want to get your hands dirty...

Yes, OK, that's what I thought, but how did the tank come out without removing the belly pan? You said, "I need to get an idea of how it "should" look before I take off the belly pan"

Oooooooh, NOW I get it!
Well, it really isn`t very complicated. The easiest place to look and see what happenes is to open the rear `trunk`; the large rear door there. You can see the tanks, the outlets, (drain) face you. The are connected by a straight 3 inch (I think) pipe that connects the two tanks and carries on to the waste connection at streetside. Right in front of each tank is a guillotine style valve whose handle pulls straight up to open and pushes straight down to close.
As you can imagine by the size, from looking in from the rear, the right tank is the grey one, left one is the black.
Sorry I never took a photo, but any of the rear bath models from `74 and `75 are the same, so perhaps some kind soul will come along and post a photo or two for you!

Tex,
Try this tread I started awhile back: What holds the tanks in place? in the frame and floor repair forum on the first page about half way down.
