Black water tank

Do not know how to use this thread effect? I have a 1965 safari and need to replace the styrofoam under the b water tank. I have removed all of the bathroom and have the new floor ready to install. What about expanding foam? The old styrofoam is history. How do I get back to this thread?

I have heard expanding foam will deteriorate from the vibration of road travel.

Strofoam is available almost any place.

It offers support as well as insulation.

If you use expanding foam, in short order, you will use some bad words that you have never used before, guaranteed.

Any type of grinder or saw will make quick work of styrofoam even a sander, but that will make a big mess... Wear a mask and you could have someone with a shop Vac standing next to you to catch most of the styrofoam..

Another option if you have access to the hardware in a rheostat attached to a wire loop. Turn up the juice so the wire gets hot enough and it cuts through styrofoam like cheese. Makes a little nasty smoke but you won't be cleaning up styrofoam dust for the next year.

There is also a specialized file / rasp that works OK on styrofoam called a Sure Form

I guess I will pull the old styro ( They call it starfoam round here)out of the trash and try to make the same shape with a grinder.I'd probably fry myself with the electric alternative. Thank you all...........(Y'all)
