My 2 cents: The black sensor is not worth that much effort. It is rare for most of us to fill that tank before we either fill the gray tank or run out of fresh. For me, as long as the gray and fresh indicators work then I am happy.

I agree that it isn't worth it, just make sure it isn't shorting out & overheating the sensor panel. Mine got really hot when we left it on for a couple hours.

I don't recall the monitor panel ever getting hot, so something's very wrong there.
