black tank leak above valve

Hey everyone I have a 71 tradewinds and basicly restored almost all off it.
Even had to replace the thetford dump valve and on out first trip everything seemed to work fine except the valve leaked. So when I had time i pulled it and checked the seal and placed it back thinking I had it fixed.
So I tested it and found that the leak is coming from up above the valve I replaced like out of the coupling. The thetford coupling that they attach to the tank for the slide vaVle to attach to. my question is
Do I have too pull the tank to reseal the coupling or can I do it from below?
And if I have to pull the tank how is that done?
On the Jonh muir trail for10 days in july so i only have afew weekends to fix it.

Black tank drip

Hi Tom, thanks for the thread, i happened to read it already. My valve was completely frozen a new one was a must. The tank sits above the sub floor and i can see parts of it with floor underneath and the wood does not seem to be rotten. plus I have access to the valve and pulled and checked the seal seat and it looks just fine. My trailer sat for 13 years with out service and this seems to be the last problem I have.
I Want to know if i can pull the tank without taking a part the bathroom.
Or how to reseal the coupling coming of the tank without pulling the tank.
Sincerely gary
