Black tank leak

Greetings all,

Before I had the shop take away my trailer for a new frame and floor, I wanted to ensure the black tank was empty (the PO told me it was, but I wanted to make sure). I took a 5 gallon bucket and dumped it down the toilet. My T-handle was in the closed position, but there was an ever so small trickle of water coming out the drain connector. I pulled the T handle and whoosh...no brown trout, just water. I am concerned about this as my black tank is unuseable unless I have a full hook up. Is it most likely the t-handle valve? Is this easily replaceable?

Thanks,

SM

Sounds like your dump valve (probably a Thetford SLIDE-EZ) is at fault.

Parts are still available.

Now why would you have to call them brown trout? Couldn't they be catfish or bullheads, afterall, they both are bottom dwellers.
