Going to the RV store to see if I can get a better replacement part, if not I will be putting in an elbow instead.
Thanks for the tips.

I have a 2008 27fb Inst Sig, and a 2017 27fb Tommy Bahama, both with this piece of junk backflow preventer / vacuum break. The 2008 leaks to my surprise today, and I'm going to replace both with the 90dg elbow.

I'm really disappointed that Airstream has consistently chosen to go cheap and install this defective part.

Thank you all for offering this great advice for a repair and replacement.

Thread Bump Flush fitting leak 23D

The original question of this thread was about a leak at the point where the outside inlet and inside plumbing join. I have a leak and have ruled out the back flow valve and a leak at the black tank inlet. There is no water on the inside of the trailer. I can feel dampness in the insulation where the outside inlet is connected to the inside plumbing. I have tighten the fitting as much as I can but still have a leak.

Has anyone removed the outside inlet and wrapped with teflon tape? Is there an o-ring or washer in this fitting?

A pic would help, is it the city water connection to the PEX line that is leaking?

Has this trailer been exposed to freezing temps and not winterized?
