74 Safari Black tank removal

I have a 74, 23 foot Safari that the black tank failed at the flange to the dump valve and I am researching the removal in preparation for the replacement of the tank. I have the original manual and step 5 page 12 tells me after the removal of the toilet and the toilet mounting flanges, I am to cut a 6" X 8 " hole directly below the termination valve at the rear of the trailer. There are no pics. Cut a hole through what and where?? to access what??? and what termnation valve are they talking about?? I went through all the drawings looking for anything labeled termination valve and nothing is shown. Please help!!! Thanks in advance.

Check out his page, see if it helps, had mine out, not a big deal.

Don't know why you would cut a hole

Does yours sit up off the floor like mine?

You can remove a section of your under pan.

Revove the toilet, 2 nuts hold it on. Unwind the adaptor. Remove the plastic cover, a few screws and rivets. From inside the storage area you will need to disassemble the piping, I had to heat mine up to get it to come loose, plumbers putty. Did the pics help?

Huge help thanks. I will get to it next week. I think I am going to get a local metal house fab one for me out of stainless so I do not have to worry about it ever again.
