73 Argosy Black Water Tank Valve Problem

We bought our new little 73 Argosy 20 about a month ago and I haven't been able to get the black water tank valve open. I read in the manual about filling the tank half way up with water and driving it around but that hasn't helped. I was wondering if anyone new any tricks besides prying it open from underneath and creating the nasty mess that will surely follow. Thanks in advance for any advise!

can you try shooting some warm water into the discharge outlet? it's just a guess.

Sorry for asking this question but are the locks engaged? Had to be asked.
Second, sometimes the dump valve extension coupler gets caught on the sheet metal, happens to me all the time. Take a flashlight and make sure that is not the cause. If neither of these is the problem your valve gaskets have stuck to you gate slide and the only way to fix this is persistance. Try pushing in on it then pulling out to breake the seal loose. When you get it open use some "Dump Valve lubricant" on it. Chances are your gaskets will be ruined and won't seal again. Time for a replacement or a valve repair kit. Good luck
