69' Caravel waste tank removal

Hi,

Looking for some guidance with this 69' Caravel waste tank. The number stamped on the side is a T1244 Inca. It looks like I have to replace the tank due to broken flange tabs that bolt the slide valve in place. Fortunately this little tank is an above floor and easily removed (almost)

How does the toilet flange come loose from the top of the tank? Toilet is removed, all Phillips screws are out but the flange and moulded inlet are firmly in place. Is it sealed or plastic welded in place? Once this is removed I can slide the tank out but I don't want to damage the shower pan. Thoughts or advise?

Thanks for your help

Vinnie

Here's an update to my question.. how about the bottom side flange that the valve mounts to.. is it possible that it threads into the tank in some way? Is that part available separately? The tank is not fiberglass and seems to be in decent condition.

Thanks Vinnie

Some of those were actually fused into the tanks and never intended to be removed... Inca plastics is still in biz and I think you could order a replacement based on the number on the tank.

Thanks Janet,

I will give them a call tomorrow and seek their advise. The tank seems to be in great condition so I was hoping for a service solution vs. replacement. I found this adapter online.. wouldn't it be nice it if had threads on it.

If the toilet flange is like the one in my '74, it is screwed into the tank. I made a spanner wrench out of a piece of flat stock with pins that match the holes where the flange bolts are. Then just unscrewed it from the tank.
Can't help with the bottom flange. Mine has a slip fit.

Thanks TG,

Its very tight but I was able to get some movement on the toilet flange. Before I remove that which means I am removing the tank I was thinking a bit more about the lower dump valve flange. I suppose I could always try to unscrew it since they are two very different types of material .

Thanks Vinnie

I am not sure the lower flange is screwed in. You might check with the Mfr..

Thanks Janet.. called Inca and they were very helpful. The T1244 is just their license number so I have to hunt around for the actual part number if possible. Heidi is the pro at the old tanks and will be in tomorrow. Maybe she will have more info about the lower flange when I call back.
