2019 Globetrotter Gray Tank
All,
Any of you 2019 GT owners think your 37-gal gray tank fills up fast?
I did, so I tested it. Emptied the gray tank and added measured gallons. Indicator read 100% at 28 gallons -- when actually 75% full.
Took it to the dealer for testing, and they said it read 100% at 30 gals, with water in the shower drain at 34 gallons.
Best part? Dealer checked with Airstream who said "unit meets specifications."
Before I voice my displeasure regarding this "built for dry camping" trailer, anyone else having similar issues?
Thanks,
John

If your Globetrotter uses the SeeLevel tank-monitor system, it is possible that the sensor strip is mounted slightly low on the tank. If so, it would indicate 100% before the tank is truly full.

John, thanks for the heads up. I too have a 2019 GT - 27FBQ and will check my Grey tank monitor.

John, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I also recently took ownership of a 2019 Globetrotter and took it on its maiden voyage last week. I was very surprised at how quickly the grey tank filled up. Please let us know what else you learn about this. I'll do a bucket test on my tank and see what it considers "full".

Thanks for the reply -- yes, it is a SeeLevel monitor.

Another thought about the apparent lack of capacity with the dealer's test. The gray water tank has little depth and great width and length. Any tilt of the trailer can result in considerable empty space above the drain input.
By the way, the dealer's test (water in the shower drain) is a reliable way to tell when the gray water tank is full to the drain input.

Thanks. The trailer was level when I conducted my test. And I am sure the dealer had it level when they said it indicated full at 30 gals.

The dealer's test of 34 gallons with water in the shower drain is a better indication than what the SeeLevel system shows. Water backed up in the shower drain is how I have known our gray water tank is full in the past. That drain is barely above the inflow into the tank.
The 34 gallons is less than 10% error which may be why Airstream indicated the capacity is within specs.

Thanks. But I certainly don't think indicating 100% full when only 75-80% is an acceptable error -- that's another 2 showers! :-)
