hi kanehill...
it's not difficult at all...
basically you...
-start with a really really REALLY clean/empty tank...
-park it so the street side is higher that the curb side or roll the street wheels up on blocks,
-unplug the phone cord (rj-11),
-unscrew the sensor and...
- expect some pooooo to run out, so use a small basin (did ya empty the tank first?)
-wipe the tank threads of all debris
-wrap the sensor threads with silicone tape
-screw in the new sensor hand tight then another 1/2 -1 turn with a wrench,
-replug the phone cord
ALL DONE!
the challenge is getting access to the sensor.
there is room for a really small hand to reach inside the belly pan but it's a tight fit and awkward.
the factory cut doors into my belly pan over each sensor which makes access much easier.
YOU can do this with tin snips and then make a 'patch' of aluminum or galvanized steel.
there are photos in other threads on this issue so search,
or go to devomans threads, he's got some pics posted too...
cheers
