Zero G hose ... which one is safe to use?

Thinking of getting a Zero G hose, as I'm tired of wrestling with the drinking-water hose I have now.

Is there a Zero G that is rated for drinking-water use?

The Zero G Blue hose is rated RV safe. I don’t see any white color.
Water has not affected us. Tastes fine and runs clear.

Look in the inside of the hose.

Yep...they all are.👍

"50% lighter weight compared to commercial vinyl hose
Jobsite tough - abrasion, leak & puncture resistant with burst rating of 600+ psi
Kink-resistant, easy to maneuver, drinking water safe & lead free
Does not expand or retract, guaranteeing an uninterrupted and high water flow Rate"

We have one 150' and two 25' 5/8" that take up the space of one 50' white at half the weight... much easier to store in plastic bags.

We have a large water filter in the middle of two hoses and I found the 25 feet ( for a total of 50) was too much hose. I tried a couple of others and settled on Flexilla. Purchased on Amazon. Each is 8 feet and very flexible as the name implies. They are yellow/green and drinking safe and will handle freezing temps which the reg zero G won’t. Don’t get me wrong the Zero G is a great hose just not for application.

Zero G

Here is the 50' version of the one I have
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01N1FB9..._t1_B01E38IB3M
It says Drinking water/RV safe on package. I have had mine for two years and it's great. No more struggling with plastic hose in the winter.

Ok for Drinking Water

We’ve been using the blue one for drinking water with no issues for two years. We no longer have leak issues at the hookup points. Heartily recommend vs. traditional water hoses.

They are all rated for Drinking.

I use the blue one for drinking and the black one for everything else.

We had a really bad “hose-water” taste our first time out this season. Used it last year without an issue. I really don’t want to go back to the standard hose. Anyone else with a taste issue?

I sanitize my hoses with a bleach solution to prevent bad taste. I use a funnel to put the solution in, then screw the ends together and roll it around. I usually let it sit a few hours, then rinse.

I keep a case of bottled water for drinking. But use city water for showers, dishes, etc. I've never noticed any odd smell from the hose.
I remember as a kid drinking from the old rubber hoses, and they tasted like rubber. But we didn't die.
I'm sure my Zero-G said "Drinking water safe" but it appears the blue one takes it to a new level.

From the Zero-G review web site:
Quote:
Lead-Free
Many of us grew up drinking straight from the hose on a hot summer day. Refreshing, right? Well, some of those traditional hoses may not have been so safe to drink from thanks to the presence of lead deposits. Zero-G hoses are completely lead-free and safe for drinking water.
I tried to discover what was different from the grey Zero-G hose. What makes it a "RV/Marine" hose other than the color and packaging. I couldn't.

There is no difference in hose construction. Blue, Black, whatever... - All Zero-G hoses are constructed the same. The blue hose is a slightly smaller diameter though.

I use the two colors just to be able to tell them apart. I'm not really interested in drinking from a hose used to clean poo messes.

Keep your receipt and upc label for warranty replacement. I have had a couple of failures already. Leaks where the coupling attaches to hose at sprinkler end.

UPDATE:
As far as I can tell, the difference in the RV hose is that it's 1/2" while the gray version is 5/8".
Both say, "lead free" and "drinking water safe".
I have heard reviewers say that they stepped on it over sharp gravel and it got pinholes. My solution is, "Don't step on it."
However Zero-G seems to stand behind their hose.

Don't mistake the Zero-G with the "as seen on TV" accordion hose. The Zero-G is like a 25' long tube sock until the water is turned on. Then it gets round.

The real measure of safety for drinking water is a stamp that says "NSF-61."

Anything else is just hopeful short-cutting by the manufacturer.

Apparently, Flexzilla hoses are really bad for black mold, not really something you want in your water.
