What is this function?

What is this, how does it work. Located at the front of trailer by propane tanks, under front window.
Just got our trailer on August 11th.
59 Traveler. Cap is tight. Haven't had off yet.
Any info, greatly appreciated.

I will venture a guess. I think that is where you fill the fresh water tank. I seem to have read that older units such as yours would use air pressure to push the water out of the tank which is why the air valve is on the side. This is how running water was obtained instead of a pump. I sure someone with more knowledge than I cam shed more light on the water system.
