Water pressure regulator

Hello,

We are wondering why the water pressure regulator on our '74 Sovereign Landyacht is set for 15psi? What would happen to the system if we removed the regulator? Currently, it is dumping water out the bottom of the trailer when ever we are aren't running a water out a faucet.

We have redone our system with PEX.
The water heater is original.
We don't use the water pump and would happily bypass it if it was the reason for the 15psi limit.

We very, very much appreciate your help.

Thank you.

That seems real low. And you say its leaking .

On our rebuild I replaced all the copper pipes with PEX and left the Regulator out because I use an inline regulator at the campground spigot before my hose.
